This according to Montgomery 's "History of Berks County" Mel and his wife Anna are supposed to be buried somewhere in Cumru Township, in an unmarked grave. Have uncovered , maybe another child Henry Holl, born Abt 1797, Cumru Twp. Earlier baptisms were recorded at Schwarzwald Church, 1789 and 1800. Also what maybe siblings were at church: Samuel, Wilhelm, Jacob and George. A biography of a great-grandson suggests the "Hull's" first settled in Oley T ownship and later moved to Heidelberg Township. Early Cumru and Heidelberg Townships did share a common border. Allen Fritz Sr. mentioned to me that Melchior was a Hessian. Broderbond s CD ROM #132 - NY Rev. War records has a Melchior Holl, listed amoung H ession Troops, Vol. 6, "Extracts from the Hetrina". From the historical ma rker at Reading's Hessian Camp park we have "After Burgoyne's surrender , 1777, German mercenaries, mostly Hessian, were held prisoners at vari ous places until end of war. Those brought to Reading, 1781, were encamped until 1783 in huts on the hillside a quarter-mile to the north. " Melchior Holl, Cumru, will written July 6, 1818, filed Aug 2, 1818. Wife Anna Maria received all real estate till she dies then sell and distribute to four sons: Peter, Daniel, John and George; two daughters: Eliz abeth and Catharine; and a grandson Daniel, son of Peter.
